I Change
How do we make people care about climate change? We need to show them how it affects them individually. That’s human nature. I wanted to use human nature to help Mother Nature. To do so, I illustrated how climate change affects humans on an individual scale, and in turn, how humans individually affect climate change and the environment, hoping that this will give us a reason to make a change. This experience was interactive, and individual in nature, and its goal was to drive the point that the only way to combat climate change, is to change.
Hand heating the painting, causing a reaction that makes it desaturate, representing how humans negatively impact the environment.
Hand cooling the painting causing a reaction that makes it gain its color saturation, representing how humans can positively impact the environment.

This video mimics the physical experience viewers had with the paintings, while representing a different metaphor. When users ran their finger over the mouse pad, the thermo-photographed human on the screen would disappear, representing how climate change negatively impacts humans.
